The 58 Year Old Shop Sells Shoes And Hats Online.
When Chen Changyu retired, he was free to study computers and surfing the Internet. Now, the customers of his handmade fabrics online store are all over the world.
In this online business conference, the reporter interviewed Chen Changyu, a Chongqing Internet operator who was traveling in the US. She is the oldest person in Chongqing's personal network business. She is 58 years old. Chen Lao Tai's shop sells all kinds of hand knitwear, such as hats, shoes and so on. Customers have been distributed all over the world, often in short supply.
"I open the shop first to make money, and the two is to kill the day after retirement." Chen Lao Tai said.
In 2002, after retiring, Chen Lao Tai began to learn computer knowledge and surf the Internet when he had nothing to do at home. Although there is no basis for English, Chen Lao Tai learned to type, surf the Internet and chat with QQ. One day, Chen Lao Tai saw a piece of news in the newspaper that the market began to be popular with hand knitwear, and his own manual work was very skillful, so he sprouted the idea of setting up shop on the Internet. In April 2002, Chen Lao Tai opened the first online shop on Taobao, selling all kinds of hand-made knitwear, such as hats, shoe covers, etc., and sometimes tailor made fabrics for netizens.
In the first year, there was little business, but Chen Lao Tai felt more and more interested in setting up shop online. "The first pen didn't make much money, but I was very happy at that time. I didn't think that I was so old that I could still earn money from the Internet and I couldn't sleep happily." Chen Lao Tai recalled.
Since then, Chen Lao Tai is inseparable from the network, every day when he is free to hang on the Internet QQ chat. Since 2003, the online store business has been increasing as a result of increased publicity and netizens' word of mouth. When you have many orders, you can't finish them, sometimes you have to outsource them.
But it is hard to scale on the job alone. Chen Lao Tai also wants to cooperate with others, but he has never found the right person. Now, Chen Lao Tai's biggest wish is to create a knitted brand of his own.
