The exhibition was jointly founded by Russian textile exhibition Limited by Share Ltd (TextilexpoJSC) and Russian textile light industry group in 1993. Now it has become the most influential international textile industry exhibition in Russia and even Eastern Europe.

The Russian textile light industry products and machinery exhibition is composed of the following sub exhibitions: international clothing and accessories exhibition, international home textiles exhibition, international special and labor insurance textile exhibition, international children's wear exhibition, international underwear exhibition, international wool textile exhibition, international garment exhibition, international textile and light industrial equipment technology exhibition, international textile and light industry raw materials exhibition.
