In the first four months of this year, Vietnam's clothing and textile exports were estimated to exceed US $2 billion 600 million, mainly to the US, the European Union and Japan, up 24.5% over the same period last year, and a local industrial association in Vietnam on Friday.

In order to achieve the goal of increasing clothing production and export growth by 20% in 2008-2010 years, Vietnam's clothing and textile producers increased investment in the purchase of advanced equipment and technology, launched more net fur design schemes, and increased demand for more raw materials to supply higher management, the Vietnam textile and clothing association (16%-18%).

According to a country's plan to develop local industry, Vietnam's clothing and textile industry will achieve 14 billion 800 million US dollars in 2010, achieving 22 billion 500 million US dollars in 2015 and 31 billion US dollars in 2020.

In 2007, Vietnam's clothing and textile exports reached $7 billion 800 million, up 34.5% compared with 2006.
