South Korean Workers Went To UBS Early This Morning To Protest Against Clothing Listed On The Market.
South Korean enterprise clothing fashion fashion China (00749) is offering shares in Hongkong, but dozens of former workers from Eland World, a parent company from South Korea, demonstrated earlier this morning at the UBS office, one of the sponsors of Yi Nian, and asked to meet with UBS management and submit petitions.
Cai Hongping, managing director of China UBS Investment Bank, said after a ceremony this morning that he believed that the demonstrations of South Korean workers would not affect the recruitment of Yi Nian, and that there were many similar situations in New York and France, and that the situation in Hongkong reflected Hongkong as an international financial centre.
In addition, Zhou Wenyao, chief executive of HKEx (00388), was asked about Yi Nian's incident this morning when he had just returned to Hong Kong and did not know the situation, so he did not respond.
Last Friday, a group of strike workers from Eland World, a clothing company, said in Hong Kong that they came to Hong Kong to protest against the listing of Yi Nian in Hong Kong, mainly because Eland World fired more than 1000 employees earlier than the local labor laws. They will launch a series of demonstrations this week and appeal to investors not to subscribe to new shares.
