Standing collar, lace cuffs, all white shoes and socks, the nursing students of Tianjin Medical College wear the clothing of nurses of Beiyang women's medical school 100 years ago.

The sky blue long sleeved collar shirt and skirt dress, the elegant and mild temperament revealed in the nurses' clothing in the 30s of last century, attracted many young women to join the nursing profession.

From the middle of 60s to 70s of the last century, the dressing and doctors of the nurses were difficult to distinguish from their appearance. The clothes were basically the same small lapel and one breasted cotton white gown, and the caps were all "columnar caps".

From the end of the 70s to the last century, there was a clear difference between the dress of the nurses and the doctors.

Cao Wenmei, President of Tianjin Nursing Association, said that the nurses' clothing displayed by students at different times is not only the enrichment of nursing career in Tianjin and China, but also reflects the process of social change from one aspect.

Cao Wenmei said that after the founding of new China, the medical and nursing work in China has made considerable progress. At present, the number of nurses in the country is about 1 million 500 thousand.
