Vietnamese Government Announces Special Import Duties
In order to abide by the provisions of the free trade agreement between ASEAN and China, the Vietnamese government recently announced the implementation of the special import duty, which came into force on January 1, 2008.
The implementation of the special import tax implies that some products, such as the import tax on grain, will reach zero. Other products, such as the import tax on fabrics and textiles and clothing, will be 12% and 20% A De respectively, lower than the import duties.
The supplier countries will have special advantages in the direct export to Vietnam, which provide the proof of origin of the E species.
Most importantly, this policy will go back to the entry into force from January 1st this year. Exporters who pay high taxes can ask for tax rebates on the basis of special priority plans and submission of necessary documents.
