China and Mexico signed an agreement in Peru city AREQUIPA, deciding that Mexico will formally lift anti-dumping duties on 749 products in China, accounting for 78.6% of the total 953 tax products currently collected by Mexico against China.

However, according to the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico, Mexico will continue to levy anti-dumping duties on 204 sensitive products in China in the next 4 years (as of December 11, 2011).

At present, Mexico has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 2.58-1105% to 16 categories of 953 tariff products in China, mainly clothing, toys, textiles, footwear and so on.

From November 2007 to April -2008, China has held 4 rounds of consultations with Mexico. Its main industries are textiles, clothing, footwear, toys, bicycles, baby carriages, tools, household appliances, mechanical and electrical products, chemical products, lighters, pencils, valves, locks, wax candles and so on.

The above industries account for 9.5% of the total output value of Mexico's manufacturing industry and provide 1 million jobs.

The Mexico government will submit the above agreement to the Mexico Senate for deliberation and approval.
