As one of the most influential comprehensive leather exhibitions in China, the 2008 China International Leather Exhibition, China International Footwear Exhibition, China International bags, fur clothing and costumes exhibition will be held on September 3~5 in Shanghai New International Expo Center.

It is reported that the total area of the exhibition will reach 57500 square meters, with more than 1200 exhibitors.

At present, the number of orders for exhibitors has covered 90% of the exhibition area, and the sales of the booths are better than in previous years.

It is reported that 25 international exhibitors have already implemented the exhibition.

Relevant exhibitors from Australia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Egypt, France, Germany, India, the United States, Japan, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, China Taiwan and other countries or regions.

The Egyptian pavilion was the first to participate.

In the International Pavilion, exhibitors from semi made leather and made leather accounted for 40% of the International Pavilion, while chemical and dyestuff exhibitors accounted for 35% of the International Pavilion area.

Su Chaoying, Secretary General of the China Leather Association, said that since last year, China's leather, fur and products industry has continued to maintain a stable development trend under the influence of the continued appreciation of the renminbi, the adjustment of export tax rebate policy, the EU's anti-dumping duties on Chinese leather products, and the increase in costs.

From 1 to March this year, the main products of China's leather industry were exported to US $5 billion 690 million and imports of US $1 billion 590 million, up nine point five percent and one point five percent respectively.

He pointed out that the new product development and profitability of China's leather industry have been improved, the import and export continued to maintain steady growth, the proportion of the trade surplus has declined, and the sustainable development capacity of the industry has been continuously enhanced.
