Russian President Dmitri Medvedev recently said he would order all government departments to protect the Russian domestic textile industry.

About half of the Russian light industry products are illegally produced or illegally imported, mainly manufactured in China and Turkey.

Russian new network reported that Medvedev in Ivanovo State Council presidium meeting, said: "on the protection of the domestic market, need comprehensive recommendations, I will ask the government as a whole, and the Ministry of internal affairs, the Federal Security Agency, the Ministry of justice and the customs bureau to formulate corresponding comprehensive measures to protect the domestic (Textile) market."

He stressed: "these should be necessary and sufficient suggestions. We should not overdo them, so as not to aggravate the burden of consumers."

"However, we should deal with grey import and illegal production.

This is our task in recent years. "

He said: "completely eliminating (grey import) will be very difficult, but substantial reduction is entirely possible."

"There were 70%, 50% currently, which means a realistic plan is needed to continue to reduce the proportion of grey imports and illegal production."

According to the data of the working group of the Bureau of the State Council, about half of the light industry products in the Russian market are illegally produced or illegally imported, mainly made in China and Turkey.

The resulting tax loss is about 650 billion roubles.
