British Retail Sales Rose Unexpectedly By 3.5% In May
The National Bureau of Statistics announced yesterday that retail sales in the UK rose by 3.5% in May, the biggest monthly increase since January 1986.
This will make the market more expect the Bank of England to raise interest rates.
According to the analysis, the unexpected growth in retail sales in May was mainly due to seasonal changes in this month, and the British bought more food and clothing.
