Clothing Export Color Fastness Index Can Not Be Ignored
In August 13th, the Inspection Bureau of Jiangsu Wujiang entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau found that its color fastness did not meet the specified requirements when inspecting a batch of cotton Girl Dress (red corduroy) exported to Canada. The Wujiang entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued the "notice on the disqualification of outbound goods".
Color fastness is a solid color of dyed textiles under physical and chemical action. It is one of the important quality indicators of textiles. If the dye can not stick to the fabric for a long time, it will cause the dye to be pferred to the skin due to washing, rubbing and sun drying, which will cause harm to human health. If the dye is pferred to the lotion or other substances, it will pollute the environment.
With the increasing awareness of consumers' health and environmental protection, people's requirements for color fastness of clothing are getting higher and higher. Internationally, especially in developed countries and regions, the requirements for color fastness index have been put forward. For example, in the most representative Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standard in Europe, color fastness is classified as a safety item, mandatory testing is carried out, and specific technical requirements are specified. The US ASTM standard also put forward high requirements for color fastness. The mandatory standard of "national textile basic safety technical specification" issued by China is also a mandatory testing item.
The inspection and quarantine department reminds export enterprises to attach importance to the requirements of various countries on clothing color fastness and take targeted measures. In order to ensure the correct selection of dyes and auxiliaries, manufacturers should select the right fabric suppliers, and strengthen the control of the finished products testing, so as to control the quality of textile products.
