BASF will take many polyurethane products with energy saving and high ecological benefits to participate in the 2008 Asia polyurethane Exhibition (UTECH Asia 2008), held in Shanghai New International Expo Center in from September 3 to 5, 2008. This exhibition is one of the most important polyurethane materials and Application Exhibition in Asia.

Taking the theme of "Building on our Vision" as the theme, BASF will display a series of new products in many fields, such as architecture, household appliances, automobiles, shoe materials, coatings, adhesives, sealants, special elastomers (C.A.S.E), thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (TPU), and so on.

At the same time, the exhibition will also introduce BASF's plan to build a 400 thousand ton MDI project in Chongqing.

The products are mainly green polyurethane rigid foam, which is mainly used for building energy efficiency, including Elastospray, which can be directly applied to foam spray building materials insulation system for different shapes of roofs.

In the automotive application exhibition area, "honeycomb technology" has become the main attraction.

Through the ingenious combination of paper honeycomb and polyurethane, the interior parts of light vehicles with high compression resistance can be produced.

Other exhibits include a polyurethane car seat plan for reducing environmental emissions, and a steering system that enhances driving comfort and uses foaming technology.

At the same time, a new generation of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers will be introduced to the exhibition.

The green innovation area will introduce Elastocoast to the audience. This technology makes use of polyurethane to strengthen and optimize ordinary stone materials and turn them into solid, durable, porous and permeable environmental protection products. It can be applied to revetment, slope protection, expressway, sidewalk, sound insulation wall and landscape design.

Through this project, BASF hopes to participate in the development projects that are being vigorously promoted by the local government to support the development of Chongqing's "western development" gateway city.

In September 3rd and 4th, BASF's technical experts will also come to the exhibition site to explain the theme of "Elastocoast - innovation coast protection scheme to protect your home", "environmental car, comfortable driving" and "PIR sandwich panel application, spray hard foam external wall insulation engineering technology" and other topics.
