Shaoxing Garment Exports Grew By Nearly 20% In The First Half Year

Clothing exports grew by nearly 20%

The latest statistics show that in the first half of this year, Shaoxing exported 18472 garments, a total of 121 million 990 thousand pieces, with a total export volume of US $487 million 720 thousand.

The three data increased by 14.2%, 5.7% and 17.1% respectively compared with the same period last year.

From the point of view of export destinations, Shaoxing's clothing is mainly exported to Europe and America, Australia and South Africa and other countries or regions, and Europe and the United States are still the main garment export market in our city.

"Although the growth rate is not very large in terms of data, it has maintained steady growth."

Reporters learned that in fact, it is not easy to maintain steady growth.

Like many enterprises, in the first half of this year, Shaoxing garment exporters have suffered "pain" in the face of the constant appreciation of the RMB, the rising cost of labor and raw materials, the increasingly fierce competition of the peers and the intensification of international trade frictions, and many enterprises confessed that "business is not good".

There is another phenomenon that can not be overlooked. Despite the steady growth of garment export in our city, at present, Shaoxing's clothing export has been running at a high level. Although the quality and grade of clothing have been improved, some of the garments exported to the low-end market and low priced export garments still have some quality problems that can not be ignored.

Face up to good need to calm down

Of course, there is a good news for garment exporters to rejoice.

The Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation announced recently that the export rebate rate of some textiles and clothing products will be adjusted from August 1st, and the export tax rebate rate of some textiles and clothing will increase from 11% to 13%.

Many enterprises have received the news, saying that this policy is just as pleasant for the garment export enterprises as "a long drought is full of rain."

However, the industry pointed out that although the export tax rebate rate increase will help to alleviate the pressure of survival of export enterprises, but from the macro environment, in the next period of time, tight credit funds, rising production costs, and weak external demand market have not fundamentally improved.

In the face of these unfavorable factors, garment export enterprises should treat calmly and practise good internal strength. In addition to more objective and comprehensive analysis of the current domestic appearance potential, we should also manage and grasp product quality and innovation according to the actual situation of enterprises, and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises through product innovation and management innovation.
