Retail Sales Growth In South Africa In 08 June
Retail sales in South Africa (constant 2000 price) fell by four months in a row, and 2.6% in June 2008 compared with June 2007.
Retailers reported that sales in the first 6 months of 2008 (constant 2000 prices) decreased by 0.7% compared with the same period in 2007, while the same period in 2007 increased by 8.5%.
In the two quarter of 2008, retail prices (current prices) increased by 11.3% over the two quarter of 2007.
The same period increased by 14.7% in the same period in 2007. Retail sales (current prices) increased 11.5% in June 2008 compared with June 2007.
