The cultivation of mulberry silkworm has been more than 10 years ago. In the past, it was only because of the scattered farmers' cultivation, the efficiency was not high. In 2004, the county introduced the flower god silk group from Zhejiang to invest in the construction of silk reeling plant. Under the impetus of the leading enterprises, the silkworm breeding in this county has entered the track of industrialization.
In order to cultivate the mulberry industry as the leading industry for increasing farmers' income, the county has taken advantage of the state's "east to West shift" base county, seized the opportunity, increased investment, introduced professional and technical personnel, and intensified the technical training for farmers technicians and small silkworm breeding workers. According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the county has produced 836 tons of cocoons, and the income of farmers selling cocoons is 17 million 250 thousand yuan, which is 10% higher than that of the same period last year. The first batch to fourth batches of the whole county produces 41.5 kilograms of cocoons, which is 6.5 kilograms higher than that of the whole county last year.
