The retail industry in the United States is opening its own sales season, but the heat is not good enough, prompting more veteran retailers and clothing brands to start online contact with young people who know how to access the Internet.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that Kohl 's launched the virtual version of its new clothing this month, based on the company's new Abbey Dawn, which is a rock singer Avril.

Kohl 's these virtual costumes are distributed in Stardoll.com, and children can use virtual coins to buy clothes for their online roles. Kohl' s opened only 16 days in the online community market, and about 2 million 200 thousand of the visitors visited, 1 million 800 thousand clothes sold, and 97000 of the Kohl s company website via virtual stores.

Eberjey, the casual wear maker K-Swiss and underwear and swimsuit designer, launched virtual clothing in There.com this month.

Late last month, Sears, a long-standing retailer, opened its first online store on youth website Zwinky.com, the main school clothing and dormitory furniture. Sears said its online store attracted 750 thousand people during the 16 day opening and sold 850 thousand products.

These major retailers hope that virtual stores will be more efficient in attracting young people than traditional consumers.

Those who use the web site can use virtual coins designed by these websites to buy virtual costumes, which are places where digital personalities (i.e. network avatars) are built, and avatars are used by these web users to explore new models, relationships and behaviors.

Ms. K-Swiss, vice president of global marketing, said that the time for people to watch advertisements is very short, but if people spend more time browsing products in the Internet world, online advertising will be more sticky.
