Meng Clothing Textile Exhibition Has Been Fruitful For 3 Days.
The 3 day "Bangladesh 2007 clothing and textile exhibition" (BATEXPO2007) was successfully concluded on 17 July at the Golden Village Hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh. At the meeting, 110 foreign importers from Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, mainland China, Taiwan and Hongkong signed 53 million 430 thousand dollars on site with Meng local textile and garment manufacturers, 7% higher than last year. This year, the number of participants reached more than 3000, and businessmen from South Korea, Russia and Pakistan were enthusiastic about importing Meng garments. BATEXPO has held 18 sessions in Bangladesh, becoming the largest clothing exhibition in Bangladesh. The textile and garment industry is the most important export industry and pillar industry in Bangladesh. Meng's clothing exports account for about 2% of the world market. Meng insiders pointed out that as the EU lifted its quota on Chinese textiles from January 2008, Meng's European market will suffer fierce competition from China.
