Determination Of Bending Length Of Textile Fabrics
The standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO9073-7; 1995, "textile nonwovens test method seventh parts: Determination of bending length". The standard specifies the method of determining the bending length of the fabric, and gives the formula for calculating the flexural rigidity according to the bending length. The standard applies to woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens and coated fabrics. The early professional standard (now obsolete) ZBW 04003-1987 "fabric stiffness test method of slope method" is the same as this method.
The principle of this standard is to place a rectangular specimen on a horizontal platform, and the long axis of the specimen is parallel to the long axis of the platform. Push the specimen along the long axis of the platform to extend the platform and bend it under self weight. The end of the protruding part is suspended, and the ruler is pressed on the other end of the sample which is still on the platform. When the head end of the specimen reaches the slope with a horizontal inclination of 41.5 degrees through the leading edge of the platform, the extension length is equal to two times the bending length of the specimen, thereby calculating the bending length.
