"In recent years, Foshan has persisted in promoting industrial restructuring and energy conservation and emission reduction. Measures such as the relocation of low-end ceramic enterprises and the small scale of traditional projects have achieved initial success.

According to the Municipal Economic and Trade Bureau, unlike other cities, Foshan enterprises are mainly local economy, strong original nature and obvious internal characteristics. Therefore, the impact of international financial tsunami and other factors on Foshan enterprises is relatively small.

According to the statistics of the Municipal Bureau of industry and commerce, by the end of the three quarter of this year, there were 11045 new private enterprises in the city's industrial and commercial registration, 10519 more than the closed ones, and the number of new private enterprises increased by 17.6%.. "This reflects the confidence of enterprises and the Foshan economy remains relatively stable."

It is understood that in 1-6 months of this year, enterprises participating in annual inspection in Foshan also maintained growth, reflecting that the production and operation of most enterprises were still normal.

If Foshan's shutting down businesses are mostly motivated by the need for industrial restructuring, it will be beneficial in the long run, but "in the short term, it may have some impact on local taxes and employment."
