The study found that if the income of rural residents increased over a long period of time, the expenditure on clothing consumption would increase significantly.

Industry experts believe that the increase in clothing consumption of Chinese residents will mainly come from three aspects.

First, rural residents have increased rapidly over the long term.

Secondly, the change of rural residents' consumption habits and patterns, that is to say, in the process of urbanization, the consumption of rural residents will be converted into consumption of urban residents.

Finally, China's textile and garment enterprises should make efforts to study the consumption patterns and consumption habits of rural residents, and develop textile and clothing products suitable for rural residents.
