The heavy industry in Central Asian countries is relatively developed, but the light industry is relatively backward. Therefore, clothing, shoes and hats and toys have become the most popular Chinese products in Central Asia. In 2005, the two class ports of Urumqi locomotive country were officially listed. Now it has become the largest wholesale market for children's clothing in Xinjiang. At the same time, large garment processing zones have also been developed in some industrial parks in Urumqi, and garment enterprises in Zhejiang and Fujian have invested and built factories in this area to further expand their export scale. Although the financial turmoil has swept the world, data from Urumqi customs still show that Xinjiang has maintained a rapid growth in foreign trade this year. Among them, clothing, shoes and hat products are indispensable. Clothing, footwear and electromechanical products rank among the top three, of which clothing exports total nearly US $six billion, accounting for 1/3 of the total import and export volume. Urumqi will further take advantage of the technological and financial advantages of investment enterprises and base on the clothing culture characteristics of Xinjiang, and strive to build Urumqi into a famous clothing capital in Central Asia.
