Indonesia Releases New Regulations On Six Products Such As Imported Garments

According to Indonesia media, since December 15, 2008, six products imported from Indonesia, including electrical appliances, shoes, children's toys, beverages and food and clothing, must be imported by registered legal importers and imported at designated ports and international airports.

In November 4th, the Minister of trade in Indonesia said that in November 4th, No. 44/M-DAG/PER/10/2008 was signed on October 31st. Regulations on import of consumer products such as electrical appliances, shoes, children's toys, beverages, food and clothing to protect Indonesia's domestic market and related industries will come into force from December 15th this year, and it will last 2 years in December 31, 2010.

The above products must be imported through 5 ports and all international airports, including Jakarta's Dan Rong Pu, San Bao Long Dan Rong Emas, Surabaya Dan Rong Bei La, Mindanao bend and tin Jiangsu Jiangsu.

Moreover, only when importing the above products to the government registered importers, the registration time is about 7 days, the longest being 40 days.

In addition, the importer must inspect the loading port before loading the goods and bear the cost on his own.
