Reporters recently learned from the Shanghai customs that 4800 double labeled "Beijing 2008" shoes were intercepted by the Customs on suspicion of infringing the exclusive rights of the Olympic logo.

This is the largest export case suspected of infringing the Olympic logo exclusive rights goods seized by Shanghai customs this year.

It is understood that in June 17th, Shanghai Yangshan customs inspector inspected customs officers according to the "risk warning" to declare a group of tourist shoes exported to Qingdao by a company in Ecuador, and found that the travel shoes were marked with the word "Beijing 2008".

On site inspection, the customs officer was keenly aware that the goods were likely to be suspected of infringement. He immediately informed the "Beijing 2008" Olympic Committee logo exclusive right holder, the Organizing Committee of the twenty-ninth Olympic Games.

The rights of the organizers of the OCOG confirmed that the goods were infringing and applied for customs custody of the suspected infringing goods.

"Since the promulgation of the regulations on the protection of Olympic symbols in 2002, the Shanghai customs has attached great importance to the protection of the logo. 14 cases of infringement of the Olympic logo exclusive rights have been investigated, and more than 33000 pieces of infringing goods have been seized. Most of the infringing goods are clothing, footwear, self driving, vehicle accessories and so on.

Chen Xudong, Deputy Commissioner of customs and Excise Department of Shanghai, told reporters that "with the approaching of the Olympic Games, we have further strengthened the protection of the exclusive rights of the Olympic symbols."

Whether it is travel shoes, door locks or other goods, as long as suspected of infringement, customs will promptly "stop."

Xu Feng, chief of the Shanghai Customs responsible for the protection of intellectual property rights, said, "we firmly say" no "to the infringing goods, and actively build a bridge for the entry and exit of legitimate goods.
