In 2008, the standard of social responsibility (SA8000) will bring more and more pressure to export enterprises, and will become another major trade barrier after the "technology, dumping and green" barriers that affect China's exports.

As far as the current situation is concerned, the negative impact of SA8000 on China's exports is just beginning. If we do not take timely measures to deal with it, we will have a bad prospect.

It is reported that the German Importers' Association has drawn up the code of social conduct, which stipulates that German Importers should be authorized by the SA8000 association to examine the social behavior of their suppliers, and France and Holland will follow suit.

The United States, Italy and other countries are deliberate whether China's textile, clothing, toys and footwear manufacturers have SA8000 certification as their basis for selecting suppliers.

Chen Yi, member of the CPPCC National Committee of Quan Ji Province, suggested that we should vigorously publicize the contents of SA8000 and its influence on the export of our province through various media, so that governments at all levels and business managers can fully understand and attach importance to it.

The government should organize SA8000 training for civil servants and business managers in relevant functional departments and master its operation rules.

To deal with SA8000 as the content of government work, the government departments (including foreign trade and economic cooperation, labor and social security, trade unions, legal system, health and epidemic prevention, etc.) take the lead. Industry associations and chambers of Commerce cooperate actively to help export enterprises to carry out SA8000 auditing and certification in stages and in batches.

We should investigate, analyze and evaluate the impact of SA8000 on the export of our province, and formulate corresponding countermeasures accordingly, follow up and investigate the trend of SA8000 in the world, provide relevant information consulting services for enterprises, and enhance the ability of enterprises to deal with SA8000.
