Data released by the Uruguay Commission in twenty-first Century showed that Uruguay's exports of goods amounted to US $4 billion 612 million in 2007, up from US $4 billion in 2006, an increase of 15% over the same period last year.

Its main export countries are Brazil and the United States, with a proportion of 16% and 10% respectively.

Leather, wool and so on are their ten main export commodities. In 2007, their exports amounted to US $3 billion 210 million, equivalent to 69.6% of the total exports.

Exports increased by 28% in December 2007 compared with the same period last year.

The fourth quarter of 2007 increased by 24.2% over the same period last year, an increase of 5.5% over the third quarter of that year.

In the second half of 2007, exports increased by 18.3% over the first half.
