In commemoration of the victims of the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake and the end of the three day of national mourning, the Olympic torch began the journey of the Oriental Pearl Shanghai relay in May 23rd.

At 8 in the morning, the Olympic torch lighting ceremony was held in the north square of Shanghai Museum.

Before the start, all of them stood in silent tribute.

At the end of the ceremony, the organizing committee combines the lighting ceremony with the donation of love to support the disaster area, and carries out disaster relief activities on the spot.

After the ceremony, the former Shanghai swimming champion Zhuang Yong, one of the famous "Four Golden Flowers", won the first prize.

Torch relay has passed through Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, the Great Hall of the Communist Party of China and other famous places. At 15:00, it ended at the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

The relay was welcomed by the citizens, and all kinds of five-star red flags and slogans for refuelling the compatriots in the disaster area can be seen everywhere.

The 361 degree ShangHai Railway Station group also stayed at the scene early, held high the red flag and the Olympic flag, shouted "China refueling", "love the disaster area, love boundless", "China, bravely do themselves" slogans are also eye-catching, together with countless people together into a red sea.
