Pol-E-Khomri Textile Mill In Afghanistan Produces 8000 Tons Of Linen Daily.
According to the Afghan Times reported on August 13th, the Pol-e-Khomri textile factory in Afghanistan now produces 8000 tons of linen, which can be used as an import substitute for some of Afghanistan's textiles.
This is Ismail Kerr, who is in charge of the factory, briefed reporters.
Pupulmo textile factory, located in northern Baghlan Province, was built in 1943. In the past, it had 3500 workers and more than 1000 machines.
Now, because of financial difficulties and no money to feed, the production scale can only be reduced to a minimum. Only 550 of the workers are maintaining production and monotonously.
Ismail Cole said President Karzai encouraged the use of homemade products. If the government supports and helps in terms of capital and sales, the plant can produce high-quality products for the production of police, military uniforms and medical bandages, instead of imported products.
