Textile And Garment Industry In Jiangsu: Analysis Of Operation In The First Half Year
Textile and garment industry is one of the traditional pillar industries in Jiangsu. It plays an important role in the development of industrial economy in the whole province.
Since the beginning of this year, the textile and garment industry in Jiangsu has been affected by unfavorable factors such as economic slowdown in the western developed countries, continuous appreciation of RMB, rising labor costs and shortage of working capital. Production has slowed down, exports have been blocked, profits have declined, and the quality of the operation of the industry is obviously not good.
Development status of Jiangsu textile and garment industry
The textile and garment industry is mainly composed of two industries: the textile industry and the clothing industry (full name: textile and clothing, shoes and hat manufacturing).
In 1-5, the textile and garment industry achieved 183 billion 850 million yuan and 69 billion 670 million yuan of sales revenue respectively, ranking fifth or eleventh in 39 industrial sectors. The sales revenue of textile and garment industry was 253 billion 520 million yuan, accounting for 10.2% of the total industrial sales revenue.
1, the textile industry occupies the leading position, and the index occupies a high proportion.
As of the end of May 2008, a total of 9608 industrial and textile enterprises in the above scale accounted for about 20% of the total number of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size (21.5%), of which 6938 were textile and garment enterprises, 2670 were enterprises, accounting for 72.2% and 27.8% of the number of enterprises respectively, and the textile and garment industries in Jiangsu were mainly textile enterprises. 1 million 877 thousand employees in the textile and garment industry, 402 billion 400 million yuan in assets, accounted for 21.2% or 9.6% of the total regulated industries respectively. Among them, the textile and garment enterprises employed respectively as 21.2% and 9.6% persons, respectively, with assets of Yuan Yuan and Yuan Yuan, and the characteristics of labor intensive industries in textile and garment industry were obvious.

2, private enterprises are the main ones and small businesses are the majority.
At present, Jiangsu's textile and garment industry is mainly funded by private enterprises. There are few state-owned holding enterprises, and large and medium-sized enterprises are few and small businesses are mostly.
By the end of May 2008, there were 7217 private enterprises in 9608 textile and garment enterprises in the province, accounting for 75.1%, 8891 small businesses, 92.5%, and 717 large and medium-sized enterprises, accounting for only 7.5%.
In 1-5, the sales revenue of private textile and garment enterprises reached 179 billion 830 million yuan, accounting for 70.9% of the sales revenue of all textile and garment enterprises. The sales revenue of small textile and garment enterprises reached 143 billion 420 million yuan, accounting for 56.6% of the sales revenue of all textile and garment enterprises.
