Cocoon production in the first half of this year showed the following trends:

1. The mulberry garden area remains stable.

Despite the decline of cocoon silk market in the second half of last year and the substantial increase in the prices of production materials such as fertilizers, pesticides, labor and so on this year, the impact of sericultural production on the decline of comparative efficiency has not been seen in Guangxi.

In the first half of this year, the total area of the autonomous region was stable at 2 million mu, which was basically the same as the end of last year.

Two, cocoon purchasing prices are generally stable and partly low.

In the first half of this year, the supply and demand of cocoon silk materials in China were balanced, the price of cocoon silk rose steadily, and the silk industry developed steadily.

The spring cocoons of Guangxi began listing in late April. The initial listing price reached 18-20/ kg in the south of Guangxi and 20-21/ kg in Guangxi and Guangxi. In the early May, the area of southern Guangxi rose to 20-22 yuan / kg, and in the middle of Guangxi and Northern Guangxi, it rose to 21-24 yuan / kg.

Since the end of May, because of the large number of fresh cocoons sold in the whole country, the cocoon price of raw materials has increased, and the purchasing price of cocoons has declined.

Since summer, high temperature and rainy weather are more frequent. Some silkworm diseases such as pus and snail have become popular. The quality of silkworm cocoons has declined. Some enterprises have been pressing down the price to buy cocoons. The cocoon price has dropped considerably. In June, the average purchasing price of cocoons in the whole area was 16.79 yuan / kg, down 10.41% compared with the same period last year. However, the cocoon price of Hechi, Liuzhou, Baise and other sericultural areas remained stable at 18-20 yuan / kg due to good cocoon quality and stable purchase order.

In July, the average cocoon price in the region was 16.19 yuan / kg, an increase over the same period last year.

Three, seed production and cocoon production decreased year by year.

At the beginning of the year, the growth of mulberry trees was slow due to the ice and snow disaster. The time of seed production in Guangxi silkworm area was 15-20 days longer than in previous years, and the number of silkworm rearing 0.5~1 was reduced. At the end of April, the amount of seed production in the whole area decreased by 516 thousand, or 27.96%, compared with the same period last year.

In response to the impact of disasters, sericultural departments at all levels took timely measures to set up an expert guidance group and directed sericulture areas to do a good job of mulberry freezing prevention, cold resistance and post disaster recovery. Sericulture has made remarkable achievements in post disaster recovery, and by the end of May, the cumulative seed production has caught up with the same period last year.

After June, the price of cocoons declined, farmers reduced their investment in mulberry fields and relaxed their management. In the middle and June of last year, Hechi, Liuzhou and other silkworm areas suffered floods and waterlogging. Some silkworm and silkworm housing facilities in some areas were damaged to some extent, resulting in a decrease in crop production and a decline in cocoon production in June.

Four. Sufficient supply of silkworm eggs and stable market.

Since last autumn, there were more kinds of stock in spring, and more silkworm eggs were supplied in the first half of this year.

In order to ensure the balance between supply and demand of silkworm eggs, the Guangxi Association of silkworm and seed industry has held many meetings to comprehensively adjust the supply of silkworm eggs and do a good job in silkworm production plan, which has played a positive role in maintaining the stability of the silkworm egg market.

Due to planned reduction of production plan and silkworm disease in the silkworm breeding area, the silkworm production of silkworm eggs declined somewhat in the first half of the year.

According to statistics, in the first half of the year, 1 million 971 thousand and 100 silkworm hybrids were produced in 25 silkworm farms in the whole region, which decreased by 22.53% compared with the same period last year. 1 million 320 thousand and 100 kinds of storage materials were used in spring and autumn, an increase of 28.39% over the same period last year, and supply and demand of silkworm eggs basically balanced in the second half.
