2008/10/21 0:00:00 38

The Australian wool market closed down this week, and the average price of wool fell by 3.5% in the auctions of Newcastle, Melbourne and Frey Mantell.

The Eastern market index of AWEX dropped by 29 Australian cents (-3.3%), with a net profit of 839 cents per kilogram, while the northern market index dropped by 24 Australian cents (-2.6%), with a net income of 885 cents per kilogram, while the southern market index dropped 34 Australian cents (-4.1%), with a net profit of 800 cents per kilogram, while the western market index dropped 30 Australian cents (-3.7%), with a net profit of 790 cents per kilogram.

This week, a three day auction in Newcastle took place in Melbourne for a two day auction. The AWEX Eastern market index dropped 8 Australian cents on Tuesday, another 19 Australian cents on Wednesday, and 2 Australian cents on Thursday.

The western market index dropped 20 Australian cents on Wednesday and dropped 10 Australian cents on Thursday.

In Frey Mantell, there was a two day auction.

This week, the number of wool provided for auction reached 55911 packs (last week's offer was 52414 packages), and 20.5% did not make any turnover, of which 12.3% did not close in Newcastle, and 21.6% did not close in Melbourne, and 28% did not happen in Freeman.

The non turnover rates of Merino hair and wool were 25.7% and 14.3% respectively.

Before the auction began, 2457 packages (4.2%) of wool were sold and the reconstituted wool show offered 11.4% this week.

This week was a week of high interest rate volatility. From last Thursday to Monday, the Australian dollar and the US dollar fell by 3.14 cents, up 4.81 cents on Tuesday. This is a response to the federal government's $10 billion 400 million fiscal stimulus plan, a 1 cent decrease in Wednesday, 3.02 cents in the case of -3.4%, a 2.35 cent decrease from last week's closing price.

The exchange rate of the Australian dollar and the euro fluctuated between 48.83-51.84 euro cents, 0.64 euro cents before closing, and 49.96 euro cents on Thursday night.

In other currencies, the AWEX Eastern market index dropped by 39 cents (-6.5%) in dollar terms, and 20 euro cents (-4.6%) in Euro terms.

All Merino types and micron range wool prices rebounded, as demand continued to decline, and the decline in exchange rate buffered the decline of the Australian dollar.

Unfortunately, the quality of fine wool produced in Newcastle dropped by 100 Australian cents at the opening, much lower than that of other good types of wool.

The average AWEX micron price index of 16.5 micron wool fell by 61 Australian cents, 17 microns dropped by 86 Australian cents, 17.5 microns decreased by 68 Australian cents, 18 micrometers dropped by 44 Australian cents, 18.5 microns dropped by 41 Australian cents, 19 microns dropped by the Australian cents, and the micron dropped by the Australian cents.

The decline of 20 microns was 29 Australian cents, 21 microns decreased by 29 Australian cents, 22 microns decreased by 24 Australian cents, 23 micrometers dropped by 28 Australian cents, 24 microns increased by 5 Australian cents.

24 micron wool supplies are small and good competition is achieved.

In Newcastle, the price of the woolen wool remained good, but it declined in the southern and Western markets.

Broken wool is more valuable than other types of wool, and their average Merino comb micrometer price index has risen by 5 Australian cents.

Mixed wool appeared mixed signs this week, while fine and Medium Hybrid wool declined sharply, but coarse hybrid wool increased.

Buyers from Italy are in the leading position in Newcastle. Buyers from China are dominant in the country and are supported by India buyers.

Next week's auctions in Sydney, Melbourne and Frey Mantell will continue. The number of registered wool now reaches 71101 packs.

This is 9100 packs higher than the current sales volume.

At present, the estimated supply of wool in the next two weeks is between 53595 bags of -74700 packages, up 2.1% over the three week period of last year.

New Zealand Merino will auction 3050 bags of wool next week in Melbourne. The number of wool sold in Eighteenth weeks is 2925 packs.

At the auction in South Africa, 6171 bales of wool were available, the Cape wool index decreased by 5.1% compared with last week, the exchange rate of South African rand dropped by 0.1%, and the exchange rate with the euro dropped by 0.1%.
