Cotton Market Monitoring Information In October 2008
一、棉花銷售進度明顯滯后
In October, the weather was fine in all parts of the country. From the national perspective, the average picking rate is 65.79%, which is not much different from previous years. However, due to the low price of seed cotton, the reluctant sale of cotton farmers, the sluggish sales of textiles and the fact that cotton processing enterprises dare not let go of their hands and feet, the progress of cotton sale this year is obviously lagging behind last year. By the end of 10, the average sale rate of cotton in the whole country was 27.68%, down 16.29% from the same period last year.
二、國內(nèi)進口棉花繼續(xù)減少
According to customs statistics, China's cotton imports continued to decline in September, imports 129 thousand tons, the ring ratio reduced by 31%, a year-on-year decrease of 45%. In 1-9 months, China imported 1 million 770 thousand tons of cotton, down 6.7% from the same period last year.
三、預計2008/09年度全球棉花消費量減少，期末庫存增加
In October, the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) predicted that the global cotton consumption in October will be 26 million 20 thousand tons, down 1.4% from the previous year, mainly due to the decline in consumption in China, the United States and Pakistan. Global inventories in 2008/09 are estimated at 10 million 850 thousand tonnes, up 190 thousand tons from last month.
Four, domestic cotton purchase price continues to fall.
In October, domestic cotton prices hit a new low since April 2005, falling to 12432 yuan / ton, down 5.5%, down 7.1% from the same period last year. Seed cotton prices continued to fall. The average selling price of grade 3 seed cotton this month was 2.7 yuan, down 5.24% from the same month, down 11.57% from the same period last year.
Five, international cotton prices fell sharply.
In October, the international cotton price index averaged 62.88 cents / pound, down 13.69%, down 8.79% from the same period last year. The after tax price (calculated by sliding tax) is about 11440 yuan / ton, 992 yuan / ton lower than the domestic price. According to the 1% tariff, the price is about 11011 yuan per ton, 1421 yuan lower than the domestic price.
