More than 2300 exhibitors attended the Hongkong international jewellery exhibition this year.

During the five day exhibition, six jewellery exhibitions were held to showcase the noble jewellery series.

The twenty-sixth Hongkong international jewellery exhibition, which was hosted by the Hongkong Trade Development Council (TDC), closed in March 8th. As of yesterday (March 7th), the total number of buyers in the market decreased by about 5% compared with the same period last year. Although the number of overseas buyers decreased by about 15%, the number of local buyers increased by 11%. According to this estimate, the number of buyers entering the exhibition for five days in a row is about 30000, which is about 5% less than that of last year.

The number of buyers in emerging markets increased, including the mainland of China (12%), Vietnam (6%), Philippines (2%), Arabia (13%), Argentina (41%), Chile (18%), Czech (9%), Poland (up 36%), Tunisia (45%) and Tanzania (33%).

"Under the influence of the financial tsunami, the Hongkong International Jewellery Fair can help exhibitors to meet potential buyers from emerging markets," said Ye Zen, assistant director of Hongkong's TDC. This year, the TDC has increased the number of 80 million sponsored buyers to participate in the exhibition sponsored by this Council. The aim is to help exhibitors to find new buyers and open up new markets. The buyers of the three major trade fairs from January to this year have responded well.

Ye said: "the development of new markets is by no means an overnight event, and the order of new markets can be compared with the scale of the mature market. The financial tsunami has taught us to understand one thing, that is, we must diversify the market so as to spread risks. If the enterprise does not take this step today, it can only hope for the mature market forever.

During the Hongkong international jewellery exhibition, NTG Limited, the first Hongkong exhibitor, said that the first day of the exhibition had received 150000 orders from American buyers and 10000 orders from Australia. Another exhibitor in Hongkong, Rosy Blue Hong Kong Limited, said that the exhibition made them know many Asian buyers, such as buyers from Korea and Indonesia, which are very useful for the development of the company.

Exhibitors eternal diamond Co., Ltd. said that the company participated in the Hongkong International Jewellery Exhibition for more than ten years. It considered the exhibition to be international, and it was an ideal platform to meet with customers from all over the world. Hongkong exhibitors Hatta New World Company Limited said the exhibition brought many buyers from the mainland and the Middle East.

Daniel Andre Sauer, a buyer from Amsterdam Sauer, Brazil, said its company has 26 branches in Brazil, and every year it will purchase various jewelry products at this exhibition. It is considered that the exhibition exhibits diversified products. Saridpong Rattanapote, the buyer of The Mall Group Co Ltd in Thailand, said he hoped to find a new supplier through the exhibition, and had already taken the sample and planned to place an order later. He considered the exhibition to be the leading jewelry exhibition in Asia.

Ye Zeen said: "as a trade promotion organization in Hongkong, the Hongkong TDC has been committed to finding new business opportunities and developing new business space for small and medium-sized enterprises in Hongkong. Although the more than 30 trade fairs organized by this Council will inevitably be affected by the external economic situation, many of them are in the forefront of the world. 8 of them are the crowns of similar exhibitions in Asia, and are the annual procurement activities for overseas buyers.

The TDC will continue to optimize its trade fairs to attract buyers from different markets to come and strengthen Hongkong's role as the main trading platform in the region. "
