Thailand Applies For Resumption Of GSP Preferential Tariffs On Leather And Other Commodities
The Ministry of foreign trade of Thai Ministry of Commerce announced that the office will apply to the US government in the near future to restore the preferential tariff treatment of GSP for 9 export commodities in Thailand.
Api La Ali, director of the Thai foreign trade department, said that the Thailand Trade Representative Office (USTR) is adjusting the commodity structure of GSP preferential tariff in 2008. The foreign trade department intends to apply to the United States for the restoration of GSP preferential tariff treatment including 9 kinds of export commodities, including semi processed meat, orchids, fresh durian, Dried Papaya, semi processed shrimp, papaya products, leather and sour horn.
In addition, Thailand exporters can apply directly to the US trade representative office through the relevant websites to apply for export products that wish to receive GSP treatment.
