It is reported that after launching the major project of Forest Engineering Science and technology, the Chongqing science and Technology Commission will start a major science and technology major project in the cocoon and silk industry this year. The implementation period will be about 5 years.

In March 11th, the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission held a special symposium with cocoa silk Office of the foreign economic and Trade Commission. The 17 people attended the conference: the textile and garment Institute of Southwestern University, the science and Technology Department of Southwestern University, the sericulture station, the cocoon silk association and some silk enterprises.

The meeting discussed the specific situation of the development of cocoon and silk industry in Chongqing, the practical difficulties encountered by enterprises, and the direction and key points of major scientific and technological support.

It is understood that Chongqing's cocoon and silk industry development science and technology major projects focus on supporting the silk industry to readjust the industrial structure and increase the added value of the products.

There are three aspects of initial support: promotion of new technologies and varieties of silkworm production, comprehensive development of cocoon silk resources, and development of silk terminal products.

It is intended to break through the bottleneck of low intensification of sericulture production and low efficiency of silkworm farmers. It is intended to break through the bottleneck of raw material production, lack of silk end products and lack of market competitiveness.
