Germany Stipulates That The Six Valence Chrome Content Of Leather Gloves Is Zero.
Recently, the German government has proposed an amendment to the Consumer Goods Ordinance, which requires leather products (such as leather gloves) that are in contact with human skin, containing six valent chromium compounds.
It is reported that the amendment will also extend the scope of the products to leather toys, and the above products entering the German market must ensure that the residue of six valent chromium is below the limit.
The consumer goods act of Germany says that about 80% of the world's leather is contaminated by chromium salts. However, the problem of six valent chromium pollution in consumer products can be solved by proper technical operation and alternative products.
It is understood that contact with six valent chromium can cause allergic reactions to eczema, frequent contact will lead to contact dermatitis. The clinical data of protective gloves indicate that the concentration of six valent chromium in leather gloves is higher than 5 mg / kg, which can cause pain and dermatitis.
