Anti Dumping Investigation Of India'S Viscose Staple Fibers In China
In March 19, 2009, at the application of The Association of Man Made Fibre industry of India (AMFII) in India, India Ministry of Commerce and industry launched anti-dumping investigation on viscose staple (except bamboo fiber) originating in China and Indonesia.
The customs code for the products involved is 55041000. The dumping investigation period is from January to December 31st July 2008. The injury investigation period includes April 2005 to March 2006, April 2006 to April 2006, and the period of dumping investigation. According to my customs statistics, 1~10 months in 2008, China exported $2 million 740 thousand to India.
The application is made by Grasim Industries Ltd., a representative of India man-made fiber industry association. Grasim industry is the only enterprise in India to produce products. It is the flagship enterprise of Bola group, one of India's largest private conglomerates. It covers many industries, such as viscose staple fiber, cement, sponge iron, chemical industry and textile. The annual production capacity of viscose staple fiber is 334 thousand tons, accounting for 11% of the global market share. The company has a joint venture Bora warp weft fiber Co., Ltd. in Xiangfan, Hubei, China.
