The export of Portuguese traditional exports of textiles and clothing has turned downward, showing a slight growth momentum.

Portuguese clothing and Textile Association released data show that in 2007 1-4 months, Portuguese clothing and textiles export revenue reached 1 billion 374 million euros, an increase of 1.2% over the same period last year.

The products with larger export growth are mainly synthetic chemical fiber and man-made chemical fiber products, knitwear, special fabrics and so on. The export growth of these products exceeds two digits.

Portuguese textile industry occupies an important position in the country's economy, mainly in carpet weaving, sweater and garment processing, and is one of Europe's major textile exporters.

In recent years, Asian countries have exported large quantities of textiles to the European market, and the Portuguese textile industry has been affected, and textile exports have declined year after year.
