According to the price statistics released by the National Bureau of statistics of South Africa yesterday (March 25th), the main inflation rate (headline inflation rate) in February 2009 was 8.6%, an increase of 0.5% over the previous month.

In terms of regional categories, the main CPI forprimary urban areas was 8.6%, an increase of 1.1% compared with the previous month; the secondary area inflation rate (CPI for secondary urban areas) was 8.8%, an increase of 1.2% over the previous month; and the inflation rate in remote areas (CPIfor rural) was 10.3%, an increase of 0.8% over the previous month.

If we don't look at the province, Western Cape will be 8.2%, an increase of 1% over the previous month, 9.9% in the Eastern Cape Province, an increase of 1.1% in the previous month, a 1.2% increase in the previous month, a 8.7% increase in the previous month, a 9.9% increase over the previous month, a 0.8% increase over the previous month, an increase of 0.8% over the previous month, an increase over the previous month, an increase of more than the previous month, an increase over the previous month, an increase of more than the previous month, an increase over the previous month, and an increase of more than the previous month.

For all kinds of price changes, food and non-alcoholic beverages are 15.8%, 10.1% of tobacco and alcohol, 4.6% of clothing and footwear, 9.1% of rental of water and electricity, 7% of household products, 9.2% of health, 1.5% of pportation, 0.7% of communication, 9.7% of entertainment, 7% of education, and 13.4% of drinking and tourism.
