PPG industrial group (New York stock exchange code: PPG) announced at the northwest clothing and footwear exhibition: the company is building an advanced paint service factory, which is chosen as the Pingshan city near Shenzhen, a southern Chinese city.

The factory is expected to start operation in April this year, when PPG will be able to show the performance and advantages of the VIVAFLEX color system to designers and manufacturers of sports footwear.

"The VIVAFLEX color system is applied to the softest materials on sports shoes such as synthetic leather, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), polyurethane (PU) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). It can not only provide pleasing and dazzling colors, but also ensure a consistent and stable appearance."

"It will be PPG's first VIVAFLEX color system spray center," said Gary Long, director of PPG coatings service business department. "It will also serve as a base for our display expertise in the footwear industry."

China coatings learned online that the plant will provide protective properties and be able to provide coating design, sales samples and production quantities.

Mr. Long said: "PPG positioning the center's operational objective is to cooperate with regional customers to reduce the production cycle and cost of small orders, so as to enhance the flexibility of order operation.
