According to Laos economic and social report, Cantali Chobenpan, deputy director of the Ministry of industry and Trade Policy Department of Laos, recently revealed that Laos is actively integrating into regional economic integration, such as the internal economic integration of ASEAN and the construction process of free trade area between ASEAN and China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, especially in the process of building China ASEAN Free Trade Area.

Under this framework, Laos and China have signed cargo trade agreements and investment agreements, and are working on the two phase of negotiations on trade in services agreements. In Laos Foreign Trade, the EU is the main export market of Laos textile and footwear products. Thailand is Laos power export market, while China is Laos copper and agricultural and forestry products export market. As natural resources such as mineral resources, agriculture and forestry are the main development potential and advantages of Laos, China will be Laos's main export target market.
