The first Mediterranean lingerie salon has been opened in Tunisia recently. Hundreds of companies from France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Syria and other Mediterranean sides designed, produced and sold shirts and underwear were invited to participate in the exhibition salon.

According to the organizers, textile and garment industry is an important pillar industry in Tunisia economy and enjoys high reputation in the international market. This is also the main reason for the first Mediterranean lingerie salon to be held in Tunisia. The industry hopes that the Mediterranean lingerie salon will be held annually in Tunisia and become a traditional platform for the exchange between enterprises. In addition to selling shirts, casual wear, pajamas, bathing suits, panty hose, underwear, bra, embroidery, original cloth and accessories, the salon also held swimwear performances and symposium during the 4 day exhibition.

According to the sudden clothing association, Tunisia is the fifth largest underwear producing and exporting country in the world. There are 230 enterprises in the world, of which 40% are small and medium enterprises whose employees are less than 50, and 88% are export enterprises. Among these enterprises, 60% of the local enterprises, 40% of which are joint ventures or foreign enterprises, and more than half of them are French enterprises. For the European market, Tunisia is the second largest supplier of underwear to China. Tunisia's annual underwear exports totaled 550 million ~6 billion (1 US $1.35 1.35), of which 56% were sold to France, 14% exported to Italy, and 10% exported to Spain.
