(Organic Exchange, referred to as OE) released the latest data. In 2009, sales of global organic cotton products were 4 billion 300 million US dollars, up 35% over the same period last year.
OE's 2009 organic cotton market report released in February also showed that organic cotton production in 2008/09 increased by 20% over the previous year, from 145872 tons to 175113 tons (802599 cotton bags).
Organic cotton at a price of US $1760 per ton can be produced for it.

There are three main reasons for the continuous growth of the market.
The first is consumers' favor for this green product, followed by related brand and retailer's expansion plan, and more companies enter the organic cotton market.
According to OE's report, the top three brands and retailers of organic cotton in the world are C&A (Belgium), Nike (USA) and WAL-MART (USA).
The report predicts that the global market for organic cotton products will grow by 20% in 2010, and sales will be $5 billion 100 million. In 2011, it will grow by 40% and sales will reach 6 billion US dollars, and the growth will continue and consolidate.
It is worth noting that although organic cotton sales grow very fast, their output accounts for only 0.8% of the total cotton output in the world. Does this mean greater room for growth? We will wait and see.
