The store is jointly opened by Zara's parent company Inditex and India Tata Group. The new store is located in Delhi, and it is estimated that second stores will be located in Mumbai.

India is the second most populous country in the world with a population of 1 billion 100 million. Inditex believes that opening a store in India can be seen as a new milestone in Asia.
Inditex said that Asia now accounts for 12% of the group's sales. The company has a cargo center in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
