GajananBhat, director of the nonwoven materials research laboratory, University of Tennessee, said nanotechnology provided new products for the textile industry.

Because of its high specific surface area, nanofibers can be used as efficient filtration media, tissue engineering scaffolds, adsorbents, and even artificial blood vessels.
