The "second global green economy summit" held in Shanghai recently sent information to the World Expo permanent Pavilion, Expo Center project, which successfully obtained dual certification of green buildings in China and the United States. This is also the first ever green building in World Expo to apply for the US LEED Gold Award.

According to the introduction of the seven construction project of Shanghai construction engineering, the Expo Center has a total construction area of 142 thousand square meters, of which 100 thousand square meters above ground area and 42 thousand square meters underground area. The whole building has adopted many energy-saving and environmental protection technologies such as solar energy, LED lighting, river water source, ice storage, water storage and rainwater collection.

The utilization rate of renewable energy in Expo Center is 52%, and the recyclable building material is 28.9%. The energy saving per year is equivalent to 2160 tons of standard coal.

With the adoption of green building technology, the Expo Center can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5600 tons per year and save 160 thousand tons of natural water, accounting for 76% of its annual water consumption.

The Expo Center has created the three "world first": the first World Expo building to apply for the LEED Gold Award in the United States; the first one to win the three-star level of China's green building and the standard certification by the United States LEED Gold Award; the largest volume project in China's three-star green building and the LEED Gold Award building.

The Expo Center has independent intellectual property rights in the research, application, innovation and integration of green building, which indicates that Chinese construction enterprises have reached the international leading level in the construction technology integration of green low-carbon buildings in large public buildings.
