According to the "guidance on speeding up the development of public rental housing" jointly formulated by the seven departments such as the Ministry of housing, urban and rural development, the public rental housing supply target is mainly the urban middle and lower income housing difficulties families.

In areas where conditions permit, new employment workers and migrant workers with stable occupations and certain years of residence in cities can be included in the scope of supply.

According to Huang Xinjing, deputy director of Guangzhou housing security office, there are two main parts of the public rental housing in Guangzhou: one is to build new public rental housing; the other is to rebuild a batch of direct public housing, and to clean and pform part of the public housing directly, so that the quality and health of the public housing will reach the relevant standard.

At present, there are about 100 thousand public housing units (Escrow) in Guangzhou.

Huang Xinjing also said, "public rental housing is a part of the affordable housing system, and at present, the projects are likely to be the source of public rental housing."

According to the regulations, the new public rental housing mainly meets the basic living needs. The public rental housing with complete construction is strictly controlled under 60 square meters.

Huang Xinjing also said that there is no detailed rental management policy, but Guangzhou will study the actual situation, considering the supply target and scope.

In the near future, there will be some relevant measures to implement the guiding opinions on accelerating the development of public rental housing in Guangzhou.

Huang Xinjing also revealed that the Guangzhou housing security office will set up a center for checking the residents' income status with the Civil Affairs Department, and strive to build a dynamic and orderly "exit mechanism" to ensure the provision of affordable housing for the most needed groups.
