Egypt's Alexander Cotton Exporters Association Promises To Sell 150 Tons Of Cotton
Egypt's Alexander cotton Exporters Association (Alcotexa) promised to sell 150 tons of cotton in the week ending June 19th, an official of the Association told Reuters on Sunday.
The sale includes 125 tons of Giza 88 cotton and 25 tons of Giza 86 cotton, the official said.
The deal resulted in the Alexander cotton Exporters Association's promise to export 73488 tons in the 2009-10 cotton season and exports to US $172 million 810 thousand, the official said.
In the cotton season, Egypt is expected to sell 80 thousand tons of cotton, the agriculture minister said in February.
During this period, the Alexander cotton Exporters Association sold 19676 tons of cotton and sales amounted to $50 million 920 thousand.
