Australia'S Clothing Consumption Continues To Decline In June
A joint survey released on Thursday (July 1st) showed that Australia's manufacturing expansion slowed in June, as data on industrial output, new orders, employment and supplier shipments weakened.
Australia's AustralianIndustryGroup (AIG) and PWC Australia (PricewaterhouseAustralian) joint survey showed that Australia's manufacturing performance index fell 3.4 points to 52.9 in June, but still above the critical point of 50, which is higher than that level, which means industry expansion.
The report shows that consumption related areas including catering, wood, wood products and furniture and textiles are the best.
However, despite steady consumer demand, clothing and footwear industry indexes declined for sixth consecutive months.
