According to the statistics of Zhangjiagang inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Zhangjiagang exported 13748 batches of textile and garment products in 1-6 months this year, with a value of 320 million US dollars, up 21.5% and 28.3% respectively over the same period last year.

According to the analysis of the industry, in the first half of the year, the export textile and garment batch and amount increased considerably compared with the same period last year. There are three main reasons: first, the external demand is picking up gradually.

Affected by the international financial crisis, the consumption desire of developed countries such as Europe and the United States has increased. Especially after more than a year of textile and garment consumption shrinking, the demand for textile and clothing has been more and more rigid.

Two, the export unit price has been raised.

Since last October, cotton yarn prices have continued to rise, driven by rising prices of other raw materials, coupled with rising labor costs and uncontrollable environmental costs, exchange rate costs, barriers costs and many other factors, and export textile and clothing prices have risen moderately.

Three, a good environment for inspection and quarantine.

Since the beginning of this year, the Zhangjiagang inspection and Quarantine Bureau, taking the activities of "inspecting Hong Kong counterparts" and "responsibly making products" as its starting point, combined with the characteristics of light textile enterprises, has launched five preferential measures, such as creating a convenient customs environment, fully implementing the exemption measures for inspection fees, and supporting enterprises to improve their quality control capabilities, so as to provide an effective guarantee for the rapid development of export textile and clothing in Zhangjiagang.
