Contradiction Between Conciliation And Value-Added Department Of Pakistan Garment And Textile Department
Pakistan textile industry, value-added industry and the federal textile department recently held a meeting. The Minister of textiles asked all parties concerned to come up with a feasible strategy to buy affordable yarn in the market.
A well-informed source in the spinning industry recalls that the government has imposed a 15% tax on Pakistan's yarn exports, with a deadline of July 27th.
There are strong indications that the government may extend the expiry date to September 2010, but is opposed by the spinning enterprises. They strongly oppose the government's move.
